Glenn Williams

G - Green Tech Station Artist

Glenn Williams is an artist whose practice and research interests span a multitude of creative platforms. Williams views his sculpture and installation work as a deconstruction, reconstruction, and sometimes simply a reflection of various accepted norms in an effort to understand their impact on varying social realities. This work is deeply rooted in nature and concepts of the surrounding world and human interactions.

Williams is additionally an Associate Professor of Sculpture at UWM and a co-chair of the Department of Art and Design.

For WaterMarks, he created the sculptural pieces flanking the south walking path at Green Tech Station. These are inspired by African water vessels and contain the words “Water Has No Enemies” and “Water Is An Ancestor.”
