Mikal Floyd-Pruit is an interdisciplinary artist across an intersection of visual art, performance, media and music production, and community engagement. His focus is towards developing significant cultural impact. His process prioritizes community involvement in designing artistic frameworks in addition to creating room for self-definition and self-determination. While Floyd-Pruitt performs and exhibited nationally, he is committed to his home, the Milwaukee community. He has held placemaking positions including co-director of HEREcni, lead artist of Spot 4MKE, and is additionally a co-director of HomeWorks: Bronzeville. In January 2023, he was honored with the Mary Nohl Fellowship.

For WaterMarks, Mikal is developing interactive mural boards featuring intergenerational Afrofuturistic water superheroes for display in Melvina Park.
