Mollie Oblinger
Ñ - Kinnickinnic River Artist
The overlooked, whether teeming underfoot or concealed by modern society, is at the center of Mollie Oblinger’s work. In the creation of beguiling landscapes, this art professor at Ripon College plucks imagery from an interest in animal tunnels, cellular anatomy, and vulnerability. Using wholly artificial and man-made materials, Mollie forms a kind of composite environment. Shifting between the micro and the macro, she seeks to bring out the hidden.
Bird Houses are a series of colorful bird and bat houses designed by Mollie Oblinger were installed in 2019 between 13th and 16th streets north of the Kinnickinnic River. Explore the walking path to observe the wildlife in our city!
